Electrical Motors, Generators and Alternators

This highly specialized department is a leader in the electric driven haul truck business and electrical driven powertrains. SMS has all the processes captured in-house including testing, dynamic balancing, machining, rewind of electric drive components, remanufacturing of rotor and stator assemblies, and vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) which results in tighter quality control and turnaround times.

Komatsu is the world leader in hydraulic excavator technology and reliability, which brings the SMS Hydraulic Reman department to the forefront. Being a global leader in hydraulic excavator technology has driven all facets of our hydraulic remanufacturing department. The expertise of our Certified Journeypersons and our engineering abilities are leveraged throughout the complete remanufacturing process of hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, control valves, brakes, and accumulators.

Best-In-Class Workmanship

The process is very extensive from the time we get your part in the shop to the time it’s delivered back to you. It starts with us disassembling the part completely and inspecting it thoroughly. Then after the inspection we can recondition parts that have worn beyond OEM specification and start reassembling the part using OEM specifications and parts. Once it’s gone through the assembly process, we use state of the art test benches to ensure that your component is back to OEM standards. Then we ship your part back to you, making sure it will be delivered in perfect condition.

One-year unlimited hours warranty covering remanufactured components. This warranty includes removal and installation (R&I) costs when installed by an SMS Equipment Certified Service Technician.
